Results of the 2016 Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) to be Released

The latest results of the large-scale reading assessments, PIRLS, will be launched by UNESCO and the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) on 5 December 2017 in Paris. Entitled Measuring SDG 4: How PIRLS Can Help, the report presents key findings related to the school environment, gender disadvantage and early childhood education as a foundation for learning.

The UIS Launches 2018 Education Survey

The 2018 Survey of Formal Education covers key data for the school year ending in 2017 required for the monitoring of international and national education goals.

Following the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) is working closely with Member States and partners to develop new indicators, statistical approaches and monitoring tools to better assess progress towards the SDG 4 education targets while making every effort to minimise the reporting burden on countries.

Lancement de l’enquête pilote sur les statistiques du patrimoine afin de suivre les progrès pour atteindre les ODD

L’ISU a lancé une enquête pilote sur les statistiques du patrimoine afin de collecter des informations sur l’Objectif de Développent Durable 11 (ODD 11), Cible 11.4.1 qui mesure combien les pays dépensent pour la préservation, protection et conservation de l’ensemble de leur patrimoine culturel et naturel. L’objectif de cette enquête pilote est de tester l’instrument de collecte et d’obtenir des information plus détaillées au niveau des pays. Appartenant à toutes les régions du monde, 14 pays participent à cet exercice.
