UNESCO-UNICEF-World Bank jointly conducted survey to monitor national education responses to COVID-19 school closures.
As part of the coordinated global education response to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNESCO, UNICEF and the World Bank are jointly launching the Survey on National Education Responses to COVID-19 School Closures. The survey seeks to collect information from Member States on the country-wide scope of national education responses to the mass school closures from pre-primary to upper secondary levels. Responses to the survey will help better guide local/national policy responses to mitigate the impact of school closures and help prepare for the reopening of schools. The results will also help inform the actions of the partners mobilized through the UNESCO Global COVID-19 Education Coalition.
Given that the survey will be run monthly to ensure that the latest impact and responses are captured, we would suggest that a singular focal point within the ministry be appointed to collect and submit responses on behalf of the country (ideally, a team of two members to ensure response continuity). In light of the current education crisis, the COVID-19 education response coordinated by UNESCO with our partners is deemed urgent. Thus, responses to the survey will be needed in a timely manner. Given the urgency, please note that this first round of questionnaires is due to be completed and submitted either on-line or sent to COVID-19.survey@unesco.org by 12 June 2020 (extended from May 7).
The questionnaire can be completed online or downloaded here in the different language versions:
