The release of World Education Statistics 2024 this September marks the beginning of a new series of annual publications by the UIS, coinciding with the Institute’s 25th anniversary. This publication continues a six-decade legacy that began with the first edition of the UNESCO Education Statistical Yearbook in 1963. This enduring tradition highlights the commitment to education statistics as a foundation for advancing human rights and equity, offering essential data for policymakers, researchers, analysts, and education enthusiasts.

World Education Statistics 2024 features insights from UIS statisticians and highlights on various targets of the Sustainable Development Goal on Education (SDG 4). The report is organized into 11 sections covering areas like primary and secondary education, early childhood, vocational and higher education, skills, gender parity, literacy, and more.

Along with the publication, there is an interactive app that displays UIS data on the global map, making it easy to search and visualize all UIS indicators.
