Percentage of persons employed in cultural occupations that are in a specific age group
Percentage of persons of a specific age group that are employed in cultural occupations
Percentage of persons with a specific level of education that are employed in cultural occupations
Percentage of persons employed in cultural occupations that attained a specific level of education
The ideal sources are the Labour Force survey, Census or special surveys dedicated to cultural employment.
Some data can be gathered from Administrative sources, Business Registers, Income taxes, Household Income and Expenditure Surveys, Industrial, service, commercial and agriculture surveys and censuses, Living standard measurement surveys, and Private sources.

Divide the total number of persons employed in cultural occupations by the total number of persons employed, and multiply the results by 100 (For the main indicator)
Number of persons employed by type of occupation (cultural, non cultural), total number of employed population
A higher value would indicate a greater role of artistic and cultural jobs in an economy.
Additional information such as the working conditions of the cultural workers: information on decent work (enough income to cover basic needs) or the status of secondary job may be necessary to provide an accurate status of the cultural workers wellbeing.
This indicator aims to assess the role of culture as an “employer” at the national as well, as the socio demographic characteristics of the persons holding cultural and artistic jobs.
