Distribution company

Definition

Commercial establishment that is engaged in the selling, renting, lending or exchanging of feature films to cinemas. They can also be responsible for the marketing and promotion of feature films, the collection of revenues and their distribution. Data on distribution companies should refer only to head offices of companies which distribute feature films for theatrical release and which are active during the reference year. Active is defined as distributing at least one title during the reference year. Regional and affiliated branches should be excluded.
